Boditree pre-natal pilates

This course is all about customizing the Pilates experience for the pregnant mother to be. We examine contra-indications for each trimester, and a general overview of what we believe should be eliminated from the workout during the entire pregnancy. This course will provide you with ample movement options both with and without Pilates apparatus, and will focus on breath, spinal support, and moving with integrity whilst the baby is growing. The goal of the prenatal Pilates workout is to prepare the mother to be for labour and childbirth. As such this course has an emphasis on learning how to engage AND release pelvic floor, hand-eye coordination, and support of the joints in all spheres of movement.

Boditree post-natal pilates

Boditree Post-Natal Pilates is a workshop designed to help women recover from the experience of pregnancy, labour, childbirth, and potential C-section surgery. This workshop can assist all bodies, even if it has been decades since the mother gave birth to a child. The idea is the pelvic floor and breath require attention and balancing, the spine needs decompressing and elongation, and the pelvis needs to relearn proper positioning. This workshop assists movement educators in expanding their repertoire of concepts, exercises, releases, and applications of the Pilates apparatus, in designing a meaningful workout for anyone who has had a baby.

Assessment and Workout Design: Working with Scoliosis

Boditree's introduction to working with participants with Scoliosis begins with assessment, then moves to release work, breath work, ooving, Matwork principles, then Pilates apparatus. Learn how to assess and continuously correct imbalances, respond with useful modifications, and create a comprehensive workout that will assist the body to better support their structure. Reduce pain, increase strength, and most importantly, improve awareness of imbalances and to teach people how to take better responsibility for their imbalances in daily life.

Managing Parkinson's in a Pilates workout design

Assessing and designing a workout for a senior with early onset Parkinson's, plantar fascia discomfort, shoulder impingement, and hemisphere imbalances. This course will empower instructors with information that will assist them in delivering their services to a wider variety of participants. Seniors greatly benefit from the Pilates Method of physical conditioning, and this course is a great introduction to help movement educators expand their vocabulary and tools available to us within the realm of the Pilates Method.

  • taking history, assessing range
  • foot mobility
  • releasing the psoas
  • assessing posture, gait, stability of the pelvis, and integration of breath
  • decompressing the spine, balancing pelvic floor with breath, and brain integration

The Spine Corrector for Release Work & Cranial-Sacral Rocking

Learn how to use your spine corrector (also called a small barrel), for altering how participants experience breath. This course focuses on release work, imprinting, strengthening spinal conditioning, sequencing, and measuring results. The course concludes with Cranial-Sacral rocking, something everyone should experience at least once in their life ! A fantastic course for instructors who are wanting to dig deeper into the breath work before starting a Pilates workout. The Spine Corrector is one of the most important pieces of apparatus existing in a Pilates studio, this course will demonstrate why, and it will teach you how to get more use out of your barrels !

Advanced Boditree Release Work : case study with a fibromyalgia flare and chronic pain (Pilates Method Alliance (PMA): 3 cec points)

PMA logo Pilates Method Alliance points Boditree Pilates online training

Welcome to Advanced Boditree Releasework!  Assessing a fibromyalgia flare and responding to it. When Nicola came in for filming we assumed we were going to film advanced workout design, however this was not possible as she was in pain. So we acted in the moment, responding to what was presented to us - a body that was suffering. This course will give you insight into how Risa manages such cases in the moment, with assessment, Boditree Release Work, and experiencing the dance between assessment and response. You will see how the body becomes prepared for Pilates, with measurable results from before to after the session.

  • Boditree Release Work (tm)
  • assessing and releasing the pelvis
  • assessing and releasing the neck and collarbone
  • assessing and releasing psoas, rebalancing breath with the ribs, and integrating hemispheres

On successful completion of the course and associated quiz Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) members will receive 3 CEC points (continuing education credits).

The Psychology of Rehabilitation

The Psychology of Rehabilitation workshop is all about productive communication with clients and with ourselves, when overcoming illness, injury, or suffering of any kind.  The nature of pain is that if it is sustained over months and years rather than days and weeks, it can literally rewire how we process muscular contraction, and ultimately delay and even inhibit recovery. We can exist in fight or flight breath, posture, and mentality with anguish always close by, for decades. Unfortunately it is quite sustainable, if incredibly damaging, and uncomfortable.  The way out can last years, or it can be fast.  The difference is how one views the challenge. Consideration for the fascia, the spine, breath, lymphatic health, nutrition, and exercise are all central components to the most meaningful facets of healing, but mental health is equally important to consider. In this workshop you will learn powerful sequences and approaches that help to reprogram belief systems and clean the slate of the mind, to reset our understanding about pain and healing, and ultimately help us speed up recovery.  Tools used by national athletes begin in the mind, the self-discipline of a meditation practice governed by the intent to recover and get back in the game, begins with meditation sequences and mind exercises. This workshop will deliver powerful approaches that will help you help your clients heal with less suffering, and ultimately enjoy their “Return to Life” (Joseph Pilates).
