2021/2022 Pilates Teacher Training Outline,
November 6th, 2021-July 10, 2022

Boditree’s annual comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training program :
Studying the archival work of Joseph and Clara Pilates, and the contributions made by their students Ron Fletcher, Romana Kryzanowska, Eve Gentry, Kathy Grant, and more. This program of study promises to build capable and informed movement educators thoroughly trained in the Pilates Method of Physical Conditioning. The exercises and their applications, intent, and order, following the full classical repertoire on all apparatus is examined, explained and experienced, including modifications for special needs, workout design, and class template design for virtual and in-person services. Boditree Releasework and workout design principles are also examined

Guest presenters :
Guest presenters : All guest presenters will teach via Zoom on Saturdays from 3:00- 5:00 pm or Sundays 2:00-4:00pm. In-house participants will be guided and assisted by Risa & Boditree staff whilst our guest educator presents their program of work. Virtual attendees will also receive feedback and guidance from both the presenter, and Risa.

Class Dates/Times : 2021-2022 Program
Saturdays 2:30-6:30 pm & Sundays 1:00-6:00 pm

  1. November 6/7:
    Risa Mathews: Introduction to the method. The foundation, the Matwork, apparatus, springs, wheels, and exploration of the system. All apparatus introduced. Full Reformer workout.
  2. November 20/21:
    Risa Mathews: Lineage examination. Classical, Ron Fletcher fundamentals, Eve Gentry lineage. Reformer & Matwork. All apparatus including small tools. When to modify and why is introduced early into the program.
  3. November 27/28:
    Risa Mathews: Reformer & Wunda Chair – understanding the relationship between these two apparatus specifically with Footwork, breath, and why & when to use one apparatus over another.
  4. December 4/5:
    Risa Mathews: Reformer, Matwork, Small Barrel exploration & examination of variations.
  5. January 8/9:
    Lili Viola: Full Reformer Workout – experience the flow, precision, and dynamic transitions of the full Reformer workout, and learn how to modify contemporary apparatus for experiencing the Classical ‘feel’ of the work.
  6. January 22/23:
    Susannah Cotrone: Electric Chair & Baby Chair content – experience the Electric Chair, and learn how to modify the Wunda Chair to reproduce Electric Chair fundamentals. Why using one Chair over another, and how to connect these apparatus to the Cadillac repertoire.
  7. February 5/6:
    Risa Mathews: Cadillac & Pedipul- full repertoire
  8. February 19/20:
    Susannah Cotrone: Wunda Chair content – moving to intermediate and advanced sequences on the Wunda Chair.
  9. March 5/6:
    Risa Mathews: Arm Chair (baby chair), Electric Chair, Wunda Chair.
  10. March 19/20:
    Risa Mathews: Ladder Barrel Content – all levels of work reviewed including the advanced repertoire.
  11. April 2/3:
    Risa Mathews: Small Barrel content – all levels of work reviewed including the advanced repertoire.
  12. April 9/10:
    Darien Gold: Spine Corrector content – all levels of work reviewed including the advanced repertoire.
  13. April 30/May 1:
    Susannah Cotrone: Cadillac content – exploring the advanced repertoire, Guillotine, & Pedipul.
  14. May 14/15:
    Risa Mathews: review of all content covered to this date, filling in the gaps.
  15. May 28/29:
    Risa Mathews: Boditree Releasework, Eve Gentry & Ron Fletcher variations, special needs modifications.
  16. June 11/12:
    Apprenticeship & Review
  17. June 18/19:
    Apprenticeship & Review
  18. June 25/26:
    Apprenticeship & Review
  19. July 10:
    Final Review & Examination

Teacher Training Fees :

All Teacher Training students are expected to attend a regular practice in studio, with a minimum of 2 group workouts per week, and a minimum of 10 private workouts throughout the course of study. These fees are in addition to the cost of educational modules.

Payment options for Course Modules : all rates in Canadian dollars (please add gst to all rates)
-payment due by October 15, 2021

  1. Pay in full: 18 weeks of study $7875.00 (plus GST) – payment due by October 15, 2021
  2. Pay as you go : each weekend module is $485.00 (plus GST)
  3. Mentoring students : Modules 1-14: $ 6300.00 (plus GST)
  4. Final Exam: $225.00 plus GST

*Virtual attendees are welcome to attend all classes or select workshops. Boditree offers a Classical Mentorship program which enables contemporary Instructors to use our workshops as ongoing education in their study to complete Classical training in the Pilates Method.

Boditree graduates are in demand around the world as well as within our city. We are dedicated to ensuring that all of our students embrace the method with confidence, in a supportive and nurturing environment catering to all learning styles and needs.

 

Scholarship: Boditree offers one person free access to our training, each year. Our Olivia Thorvaldson Memorial Scholarship was set up to honor the memory of Boditree Instructor, Olivia, who passed away from a brain tumor in March, 2020. This scholarship does not cover the cost of workouts or private lessons, only tuition for the weekend workshops. Just send us an email telling us why you think you should win the scholarship, and your submission will be reviewed. This scholarship is open to all new Pilates Teacher Training students, but not Mentoring students.
